I would certainly love to come back - the couple who own Casa
Bartula are certainly very charming and friendly and were lovely to us.
We loved the area, especially Orta San Giulio, and we had a trip to Locarno on the scenic railway from Domodossola. Plus we did the musical instruments museum at Quarna Sotto and the kitchen museum at Omegna, 'the Forum Omegna'. We had only a week and there was a lot more we could have done, we came without our teenagers and perhaps could come back with them... or perhaps not! Do pass on to the owners of Casa Bartula our gratitude for the wonderful week we spent there last August. They were so hospitable and made our stay extra special. It was also so pleasant sitting outside overlooking the view of the village. It was a lovely week!

I much enjoyed my three nights in Orta and the flat was very
nice. Extremely convenient for the Poetry Festival and definitely worth me
recommending it to people in years to follow. I swam in the lake and would
have loved to go for a sail or rowing expedition. I took walk 2 up to Vacciago
into a cloudburst and was delighted to have a sense of the landscape not
just the tiny town. Laura Pariani has written a novel called Il foto di Orta,
about an afternoon long ago that Nietzsche spent with a young woman at the
Sacromonte and she read excerpts from it at different chapels. It has not
been translated but I think it is worth recommending to readers of Italian
and German.
What a magical spot it is!

Well, what can we say about our holiday, other than "it was fabulous",
we really enjoyed our stay in Casa Glicine, & Edo was so helpful.
We did 3 of your walks & enjoyed them all. We also went to some of your suggested restaurants, our best meals were @ Ristorante San Giulio & Da Venanzio, we did just about manage to find the latter!! Thankyou too for providing us with so much useful information, much appreciated.

We had a wonderful holiday. The views from the villa were fantastic.
We really appreciated the information about the walks. It was great to be
able to walk on paths and quiet roads. We would never have found the paths
without your information. Didn't have time to do them all though!
We thought the standard of the apartment was very high and the sofa beds very comfortable. Overall, a great apartment and amazing views.

We had a fantastic stay in Orta - it's one of the most beautiful &
hospitable places I've been, and definitely somewhere to re-visit again.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Casa Bellavista which is a gorgeous
building in a truly breathtaking location, we particularly enjoyed two
recommended walks that we undertook during the week. We would like
to offer our thanks for the very detailed information pack and to say that
we made good use of the wealth of information it contained.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Miralago and found the accomodation
both comfortable and convenient. The view over the lake and mountains
is superb and the days we sighted Monte Rosa were magic.
Orta and the surrounding area is most impressive and we specially thank you for your walks information.

We had a lovely time at Lake Orta. We had underestimated the stupendous
views from the apartment. Many an hour was spent at night sitting out and
enjoying the view with a glass of Piemontese wine. The children loved the
main piazza in the evenings, running around with the local kids. Edo was
very helpful at the local shop.

Just thought I'd let you know that the apartment was excellent to stay
in and we had a lovely holiday.
The information sheet was really useful; we went to go canoeing and found that the camp site no longer has canoes, but there is a beach on the main road south of Orta where the chap has lots of canoes.

Thank you for providing such a fantastic location and great facilities
for our recent holiday in Vacciago. We had an excellent time and are suffering
from severe withdrawal symptoms this week! Casa Miralago is such a lovely
apartment - we are really missing our view of Lake Orta, Isola San Giulio
and Monte Rosa (on a good day). We feel we got to know the local area really
well and can safely say that Vacciago and Orta San Giulio are two of our
favourite places. We will certainly return soon.
