| We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in Dolce Vita and its surrounding restaurants
and are slowly recovering from the excesses.
We have no complaints and found the apartment both wonderfully sited and a pleasure to be in.
Our only comment is that on the odd occasion, when we attempted to watch TV, we miserably failed to get any channel other than one that appeared to be beamed in from Lebanon or possibly Egypt. It made interesting watching for a while, but when on the summit of Mottarone and I could see the house through the binoculars, I could not understand why Mr. Berlusconi and at least one of his TV masts could not have provided us with something a little more entertaining. [HHLO Response: we're aware that the satellite channel choice is now somewhat disappointing, and are looking into how we can increase the satellite channels that are available. Update 2013: this is now sorted, see our 2013 News] That said, I congratulate you on your wisdom in creating Villa Gelsomina, as we did not really need TV at all, it was sufficient to sit or stand on the terrace and imprint the extraordinary view into our memories to rekindle whenever peace, quiet and beauty are needed.

| We had a marvellous time at Lake Orta.
The accommodation was excellent, offering everything we needed for a relaxed stay.
The location was first class and the view of the island, especially at night, was breathtaking.
The family wedding went off without a hitch and was undoubtedly the best wedding that we have ever attended. Thanks again for your help.

| We loved lake Orta! We found the whole area enchanting
and took every opportunity to explore its treasures.
The apartment is wonderfully situated and I would like to think that we benfited from the strenous walk down to the lake and the even more strenuous walk back! It was quite magical to watch the sun coming up over the island and enjoy spectacular views throughout the day and evening. Gabriele was an excellent source of information and provided some great ideas for excursions. We enjoyed the house and pool. It was extremely hot on several days and an additional fan would have been welcomed. We got used to the quirkiness of the bathroom and sitting side saddle had the compensation of enjoying wonderful views! I am quite sure that we will return in the future.

| We had a very good time on the piazza Motta, a great apartment,
no recycled furniture from the seventies! but a tasteful interior, everything
present.
Astonishing view on the lake and island, right on the middle of the square with all possible restaurants, boats and other facilities like gelaterias, (ha!) at minutes walking distance. We appreciate Orta much more in comparison with Maggiore, because of its simplicity, it is not over commercialised, people still friendly etc. All in all, a wonderful stay, we will recommend Venere. (The woman who runs the store was friendly, say hello please).

Lake Orta was beautiful, we enjoyed wonderful weather so swam everyday
from small pontoons at the waterside in Ronco. We found the local people
running the bars, restaurants, water taxis etc to be very friendly and in
all cases helpful. The two principal restaurants in Pella were good,
simple pizza in one and great steak and wine at the other. The apartment
was spacious in a good location and largely well equipped.

| We had a fabulous stay at Villa Gelsomina in Apartment 'Ciao Italia'.
It was our last holiday before our first baby is born and was wonderfully
serene and peaceful - just what we needed! The setting was wonderful
and the apartment itself was very clean and well-presented. I would
highly recommend a stay here to anyone. The location pack which was
provided before we left was really useful in planning activities and making
sure we had everything we needed for a stress-free stay.

| I'm sure you will be pleased to know that we had a very pleasant
week (despite the thunderstorms). Casa Bartula was a charming little
house with lovely views across the village to the distant mountains. The
information you provided was very helpful and I think we made the most of
the area. It really is a delightful part of the world and I fully
understand why you have come to love it so much. Paola and Giampiero
were very pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately our Italian is basic
in the extreme and it would have been nice to have moved beyond hellos and
thankyous. I would be grateful if you could let them know how much
we enjoyed staying in their house.
At a more general level we would be more than happy to holiday with you again and will have no hesitation in recommending you to our friends.

| We would just like to say how wonderful our stay at Giove was.
The apartment was just delicious and the VIEW....... to die for!
Everything was as it should be and we enjoyed every minute of our time at Lago Orta. We had travelled extensively through France and Italy by car for 5 1/2 weeks, before we got to Lago Orta, so it was a welcome sight that greeted us at the apartment and the Piazza. We chatted to Signora Irene on varios occasions and bought some wonderful cheese, wine and bread from her delicatessen,we found her a delightful person and enjoyed saying hello to her as we left the apartment each day.
We hope to return in a couple of years to explore more of Italy and France, and hope to return once more to Orta San Guilio.

we did have a wonderful week, "paradisefound" is a good word for Villa Gelsomina. Thanks again for your very good description of everything. We managed to get the kids up to the "Tre Monte" and had a great view over Lago Maggiore. We hope we will come again and we will surely recommend Villa Gelsomina to friends.

We arrived home last night after an epic journey of 1,660 miles!
