Remembering GrannyWhen I was 7 my Aunty Laura bought me an autograph book. Granny wrote something in it, which I would like to share with you now. It's a quote from Kipling's 'The Glory of the Garden' that she learnt at primary school and had never forgotten:
" and such gardens are not made I think this sums up her view on life. She worked hard to make a beautiful garden, welcoming home, and happy family. I will always remember my Gran as hardworking, fiercely independent, always active, and fun to be with. And I hope the garden is beautiful where she is now. Emma Anderson, September 2009 |
