November 2009. We've added a staff page, and we've added more photos of the lakeside garden of Villa Giovanetti.
September 2009. We've planted a yew hedge in the front garden of Villa Gelsomina (see picture) and finished the parking area with 6 cubic metres of stabilizzato (sharp red gravel).
September 2009. We've added a page on the San Vito firework displays at Omegna, and we've renewed most of the photos of Paradiso. And Michael Aspel has just published an article in the UK's Daily Telegraph explaining why Lake Orta is heaven on earth...
August 2009. We've added a page on Lagna beach to the site, and we've added 2 very comfortable new easy chairs for the balconies of Casa Miralago. And the pampas grass in Villa Gelsomina has flowered for the first time!
July 2009. We've added a blog for special offers and other live updates of news and events at Lake Orta, that we can add to when we are out and about (from our mobile). For the technically-minded, this is a twitter feed - you can follow us directly on twitter under the name LakeOrta .
June 2009. We've replaced all the pictures of Casa Miralago on the web site with new photos, so you can see the new kitchen, new fridge and new upstairs furniture. And we've replaced the aging deck chairs with 4 lovely new lightweight aluminium-framed white sun-beds.
June 2009. We've added a number of plants to the grounds of Villa Gelsomina. We've added some cornus bushes on the slope below the lower terrace, which shed their light coloured leaves in winter to reveal red branches, and we've extended the hydrangeas with their large long lasting flowers, which we now have in several areas of the grounds. Also on the lower slopes, a styrax obassia, and a curious nocciolo torcigliato. And we've planted a small tree in the space in the front garden, a beautiful stewartia pseudocamelia (see pictures below), with white summer flowers, and patterned bark in winter.
June 2009. We've extended our last minute deal from 2 to 3 weeks, hopefully this will allow more people to take advantage of this great offer.
May 2009. In these cost conscious times, we've now made clear in our Terms & Conditions our 'All In' promise, under which all services and charges are included in our prices (so different from some of our competitors we hasten to add!), and we've added a printable (PDF) version of the T&C's. We've also now added more pictures of the interior of apartment Isola, with recently refurbished kitchen, which we are renting for the first time this year.
April 2009. For ease of reference, we've added our list of local hotels to the site, which we are often asked to provide for stays of the odd night when we cannot accommodate client requests in full.
March 2009. We have just completed further work on the interior of Casa Miralago, with new kitchen wall units increasing the amount of storage space, a base unit under the boiler with slide-out baskets for all the cooking pans, and a new four-ring gas hob. Upstairs in the studio room we've put in a new long-but-low beech chest-of-drawers that suits the room better, and new bedside tables. And there are new bedside lights in both the upstairs studio room and the master bedroom. It all looks lovely and bright and very refreshing, and we hope you enjoy this wonderful apartment even more now!
February 2009. We are delighted to offer new this year l'Isola, a superb one bedroom apartment in the main square of Orta San Giulio. Stay here to wake up to a superb view of the Island of San Giulio and Lake Orta, and to watch the life in Orta's main square.
January 2009. With a good fall of snow on boxing day, the families staying over Christmas 2008 and New Year in Villa Gelsomina had a great time in the grounds and in the local area (see their feedback). All the lifts and runs at the local skiing resort of Mottarone were open. With many new winter pictures under snow, we've added new pictures to the winter section of the photo gallery, and have now split the page on Villa Gelsomina into separate pages for Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter with pictures of or from the villa through the four seasons.
