We have found the following local hotels to provide a good service. Prices are a very rough guide only, in high season, with lake view where possible, per night per double room.
These hotels are in the car-free lake-side village of Orta San Giulio, set amongst many restaurants and cafe's. However, other than the San Rocco and Bussola, these hotels cannot provide parking, but there is a covered multi-storey car park 5 minutes walk from any of the hotels, which costs around €8 per day.
Hotel San Rocco. Superb lake front setting, with pool built out into the lake, great views of lake and island. If it's your wedding or anniversay, ask for a room in the villa next door; the Presidential Suite itself has rather limited views, so ask for a room in the villa with more of a view.

These hotels are approx 15 minutes walk, or 5 minutes by car, from Orta San Giulio.
Villa Crespi. Dream hotel. Wonderful setting (even though almost no lake view), but no pool. Small hotel, personal service, very different from an international chain. Rooms very individual and beautifully finished with rich furnishings. You won't be disappointed, but don't go there to save money. Web site www.villacrespi.it Prices from around €250. If it's your wedding or anniversary and want something really special, ask for the Regina Vittoria suite (but be prepared to pay up to €700 per night) .
