Casa Bella is a beautiful two bedroom apartment with private garden,
situated at the edge of the small village of
Vacciago on the east side of Lake Orta, on a sunny
south-facing slope. The large balcony has a second dining table, with
views over the surrounding hills. The house is peaceful, immersed in
beautiful wooded countryside, though not isolated from other houses. The
shop in the village (two minutes on foot on the ancient cobbled paths of
the village - away from any traffic) supplies all main provisions.
There are many possibilities in the area for sightseeing, country walks, mountain walks, lake sports, or just relaxing in peaceful surroundings. We provide detailed description of a set of walks, most of which start at your front door! There are several beaches on Lake Orta. The area is in the Italian Lakes region which has always been very popular. In fact there is everything you would expect for a wonderful vacation rental in Italy!
Being situated at 500 metres above sea level, the air is noticeably clean and very pleasant. In the height of summer when it can be rather hot in many parts of Italy, in Vacciago and around Lake Orta there can be a gentle and very welcome breeze of mountain air.
About 100 metres from the house, from the grassy terrace of the parish church of St. Antonio, there is a wonderful view of Lake Orta with its enchanting island, and the 13th century Torre di Buccione.

For those in the U.K. preferring to drive all the way, Lake Orta is just 670 miles from Calais, so it is just two-thirds of the distance to Tuscany, and actually closer than the south coast of France! Whilst you can drive there in one day, we would recommend that you take at least two days, so that the journey becomes part of the holiday too.
Vacciago is 200 metres (in altitude) above the lake, and less than three miles by road from the local centre of Orta San Giulio.
From the house there are views to the south and east of the nearby Monte Mesma convent and the wooded hill on which it lies, the spire of the 16th century parish church of Ameno, and the woods around Lortallo. From Vacciago itself, two minutes on foot from the house, there are stupendous views of the lake, the enchanting Island of San Giulio, the Madonna del Sasso church perched on a granite precipice on the other side of the Lake, and on a clear day, the enormous rocky mass of Monte Rosa, the second highest Alpine peak, looming above the panorama.
Casa Bella is a very comfortable two bedroom holiday apartment, on the ground floor (there are no internal stairs) of a two storey building, with windows on three sides. There are four apartments in the building. A central stair well separates the two apartments on each side.
Casa Bella is fully furnished to a very high standard and a master bedroom with king-size double bed, and a second bedroom with two single beds, and one sofa-bed in the living room, sleeping therefore five adults comfortably.
There is a large balcony with dining table, and a sunny L-shaped garden around the house, enclosed by a stone wall, a pine hedge, and fence. The house is reached by a 100 metres long access road, and so is away from any traffic.
Casa Bella is very comfortably furnished with attractive dark wood furniture in 'rustic' style (of modern manufacture) and superbly equipped. It is fully supplied with sheets, blankets and pillow cases, cups, plates, glasses, other crockery, kitchen utensils, a kettle, tea towels, table cloths and serviettes, fully automatic washing machine, electric iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner, brooms and a colour television and video (selection of English language videos provided). The kitchen has a double sink, and gas cooker with oven (the cooker also has one electric ring). There is a large fridge with freezer compartment.

For the Casa Bella, arrivals are flexible (Saturday to Saturday preferred). Arrivals should be after 4pm and departures by 10am.
